Participants who work with a health coach on weight management lose an average of 6.5 pounds.

Overweight, and suffering from problems with his ankle, Bill needed help. That's when he got a call from Theresa, a Registered Nurse and health coach.

Bill remembers, "I was overweight. I was having trouble with my ankle so I didn’t walk very much or go very far. You know how you are when you don’t have much energy. Finally, one day I woke up and said its time to do this."

Through regular phone calls and encouragement from Theresa, Bill was able to stay on track with his eating and exercise. "Theresa would call me regularly just to see how I was doing and how much weight I had lost. She gave me a lot of encouragement to keep going. I watch what I eat now. And I go to the fitness center once a day for at least an hour."

Bill lowered his cholesterol from 210 to 144, lost weight and increased his energy. "I lost about 60 pounds. I don’t think I could have done it without the support from HealthPartners. I feel a lot younger, more energy – it's just a good feeling."
