JourneyWell receives national accreditation for wellness programs
BLOOMINGTON, Minn.—Nov. 19, 2009—JourneyWell, a HealthPartners wellness solution and HealthPartners health plan are the first in the state of Minnesota to earn the coveted Wellness & Health Promotion Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), an organization dedicated to measuring and improving health care quality. This accreditation is significant as it recognizes the proven approach to health offered by JourneyWell. Additionally, companies use this information when selecting wellness programs for their employees.
NCQA carefully reviews programs for everything from confidentiality to employee engagement and effectiveness. JourneyWell earned accreditation by meeting high standards in how its programs are implemented in the workplace, how it provides services such as health coaching to help users develop skills to make healthy choices, and the safeguarding of its participants sensitive health information.
NCQAs Wellness & Health Promotion Accreditation requires organizations to demonstrate their compliance with well-defined standards and quality measures, said NCQA President Margaret E. OKane. The NCQA seal will provide employers and consumers with the information they need to choose the best program in their markets.
